HSM Contracting has been engaged by Isaac Regional Council to deliver the 2025/26 Rural Road Resheeting Program, supporting the ongoing renewal and maintenance of key rural road links throughout the region. These works are essential for improving safety, accessibility, and resilience across the unsealed road network that services rural properties, agricultural operations, transport users and industry.
The program includes the supply, delivery, placement and compaction of resheeting materials across multiple road sections, ensuring compliant pavement performance and long-term structural durability. Works are being delivered in accordance with Council specifications, legislative requirements, and quality assurance testing protocols.
Roads included within the program comprise:
- May Downs Road
- Glenavon Road
- Golden Downs Road
- Laglan Road
- Rileys Crossing Road
- Cluen Access Road
The project focuses on restoring pavement shape, improving drainage, removing unsuitable materials where required, and reinstating safe and reliable running surfaces for rural and heavy vehicle traffic.
Key components of the works include:
- Resheeting and shaping of rural road pavements to restore crossfall, drainage and ride quality.
- Removal, rectification and replacement of unsuitable pavement layers to strengthen the road structure.
- Supply, placement and compaction of compliant gravel materials, moisture-conditioned and density-tested to specification.
- Regrading and reinstatement of formation levels across selected road sections.
- Installation and maintenance of traffic control measures to ensure safe access for road users and site crews.
- Implementation of erosion, sediment and environmental controls throughout the project lifecycle.
- Quality assurance testing, including moisture, density and material compliance checks.
Upon completion, the program will deliver safer, more durable and more resilient rural road surfaces that support everyday travel, emergency access, school bus routes, agricultural operations and regional supply chains. These upgrades will reduce future maintenance requirements, enhance usability during seasonal weather, and improve long-term serviceability across the Isaac road network.
